Hello everyone and thank you for tuning back into my blog. I wanted to discuss the topic of why bridal prices are more expensive compared to another makeup booking with me. Although I do not really get asked this question, as this is such a universal expectation with makeup artists, I thought it might be informative to explain to you the reasons why this is.
Starting with the initial booking, there is a lot more information which needs to be taken in order for me to book the date. This means far more back and forth messages which takes more communication time in comparison to an average booking. I will also need to write up an invoice (sometimes more than once if there are any changes) and a potential schedule which again is another time-consuming factor I have to consider when pricing myself. On the bridal trial, I like to spend more time with my bridal clients, ensuring that they have a makeup look which they are 100% happy with. This can require me applying more than one look and usually trying out quite a few different lip products to find the perfect fit.
On the day of the wedding, I have to work in a high pressure, busy environment where sometimes I am waiting for clients to be free or be in the room for me to do their makeup. Appointment times in general for this reason are sometimes longer than a special occasion booking. I am also having to travel out to the appointment, carry all my equipment with me and set up all of my equipment. When everyone's makeup is done, I will go round and give everybody a touch-up, as the first clients may have been done a few hours before and I want to make sure everybody is looking universally fresh. This involves me using extra products to achieve this.
I hope this gives you a bit more understanding of my pricing structure. If you are wanting to book your wedding date with me please get in contact by clicking here.
